There is the most delicious smell when you walk in the door of Askinose Chocolate π«! We went on the factory tour and were treated to a presentation on the chocolate making process...from pod to bar, and several samples of chocolate from origins around the world. It was pouring rain outside so we didn't get to go into the warehouse, however the presentation was top notch, so I don't think we missed anything! Many thanks π!!

The store itself is small, but it offers a good variety of chocolates. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. Free samples can be requested, which is a nice bonus. It is a bit pricey, but worth the splurge to support a local business. We also went on the tour. It was informative, and I appreciated the samples provided throughout. That said, it felt a little underwhelming, as the tour itself was fairly simple.

An incredible addition to local crafts. The different varietals of beans used came through so well in the bars! Even just walking into the modest looking building, your sense of smell will light up from opening the doors. I will definitely return again for seasonal flavors and new creations; Recommended to visit when passing through, and in stores!

π« Askinosie Chocolate β A Springfield Shop Full of Heart and Flavor Every time we visit Springfield, stopping by Askinosie Chocolate is a must. Itβs more than a chocolate shop β itβs a place of discovery, generosity, and beautifully crafted bean-to-bar chocolate. We love sampling their bars, picking out holiday gifts, and bringing home treats for friends and family. Their packaging is thoughtful and gorgeous; the staff always does a wonderful job wrapping treats in gift bags that feel genuinely special. History & Concept: β’ Founded in 2007 by Shawn Askinosie, who left a 20-year law career to start making chocolate in Springfield. οΏΌ β’ Askinosie practices direct trade, sourcing cocoa beans directly from farmers in places like Ecuador, Tanzania, the Philippines, and more β offering fair pay and long-term partnerships. οΏΌ β’ They run a βStake in the Outcomeβ philosophy: profits are shared with farmers to reward quality and build community. οΏΌ β’ They also run a Chocolate University program, helping local and global students learn about sustainability, business, and cacao farming. οΏΌ Why We Keep Coming Back: β’ Their tasting bar is so fun β we love sampling new single origin flavors be
